We were established in July of 1999 by a diverse group of people of Scottish descent and people who love all things Scottish. We happily welcome into membership those who want to help perpetuate Scottish traditions and culture. The Society promotes the growth of clan societies and Scottish organizations, including the Frederick Scottish Pipe Band and the Frederick Scottish Country Dancers. We support and host Scottish events, such as an annual St. Andrew’s Dinner in November, a Burn’s Night Supper, and a Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan in the spring and fall. See our calendar of events.
We are officially recognized by the IRS as a Charitable Organization under Code Section 501(a) as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Donations to the Society of goods or money, free of tangible benefit to the Donor (or reduced by the amount of any tangible benefit to the Donor) are deductible as Contributions for Income Tax purposes. Also qualified under 509(a)(2), our Membership Dues are considered deductible as Charitable Contributions.
